“Birth” was a realistic approach to the numerous complications that arose out of creating a sculpture that had the dynamic and sensuous qualities of a real tree. The obscure process of creating “Birth” was a precursor to similar engineering quandaries that would shadow “Adolescence.” However, due to the sheer size of “Adolescence” these engineering quandaries grew to be more and more arduous as compared to “Birth….” After satisfactory brazing and close inspection of each connection I would then polish the tops of each leaf with a stainless steel wire wheel bench grinder... read more

Doyle was born on July 26, 1972 in Atlanta, Georgia at Piedmont Hospital to R. Pat Rogers and Linda Huggins Rogers. At the age of five he was enrolled in readiness after his teacher asked him to draw his family. Doyle drew what he saw, unlike others he drew his family with volume, shading and perspective. In his later years, Doyle practiced drawing with shading and perspective and eventually started oil painting. Doyle continued to paint in oils learning brushwork and color spectrum techniques. He worked in watercolor, charcoal, pottery, and several other mediums while his parents were always supportive and encouraging of his art endeavors... full story
